Why the Lokbox500 is so useful

So, you’re sitting at home, browsing the internet shops, checking out the latest gadgets, shoes, perfumes, ornaments, whatever you like. You decide what you want and you go ahead and order it, for delivery in the next couple of days. You spot something else and order again, from someone else, maybe…

Now you wait. You work, your family are out all day every day, you came home to find one of those annoying; “We tried to deliver…you were out” cards. Or maybe you’re asked to call and collect from some depot or other. You may get "we missed you" cards through your letterbox for three days before you’re invited to go to the depot to collect your parcel!

Lokbox500 prevents all that. Here’s how:

Your Lokbox500 is fixed to your wall, not far from the door. When you order goods from your favourite on-line retailer, you enter the code YOU have selected in the delivery address online. When the courier arrives, he may try the door and find no-one home. All he needs do is enter the code into your Lokbox500, open the door, deposit your parcel and push the door shut again.

This is a repeatable operation, several times a day, if required. Each parcel is scanned in, or otherwise recorded as being delivered to your Lokbox500, so the courier company knows it is there. Any further deliveries will be treated the same way, so all are safe and secure.

Other things it can do

Collections

Some courier companies collect parcels from customers’ premises for delivery elsewhere. This of course has, until now, meant that customer staying in to hand the parcel to the delivery driver. How convenient it would be to have a courier company collect from you and deliver to your friend:

‘Collect from Lokbox code C2964Y, (rest of your address) and deliver to Lokbox code C9831Y, (rest of your friends’ address)’

…or return a product to a retailer:

‘Collect from Lokbox code C2964Y, (rest of your address) and deliver to XYZ Company…’

Secure cabinet

If you are away all day, or all week, you can leave your keys in your Lokbox500 and leave you unique code with your mum, friend, cleaner, or anyone you need to give access to, with instructions to replace the keys after use.

Changing the code

The code change mechanism is protected by a cover plate and padlock, which is supplied). This prevents unauthorised person tampering with the code. Changing the code is very easy, but you must inform all interested parties of the change when you do so.
